Did you know over 70 countries have banned Paraquat already, including China & the UK, which still export it but won’t allow use at home? Yet the US and Australia continue to use it…

Volunteers needed to participate in a study on Computerised assessment & monitoring of Parkinson's disease symptoms

Are you over 18 years of age, have been diagnosed with mild to moderate Parkinson’s disease and are currently under the care of a specialist?

If your answer is yes and you can get yourself to The Biosignals Lab at RMIT University, Melbourne, then you are eligible to participate in this study.

What's involved?

RMIT researchers invite you to attend a workshop at a convenient time. During the event, they'll ask you to complete three tasks that involve handwriting, voice and performing facial expressions using a portable computer or smartphone. They will also ask you to share relevant health information. Finally, they will request you to complete a short survey about your opinion of the computerised tests.

All your data will be securely stored and private. The workshop is expected to be around 1 hour. Refreshments will be provided. If you are interested in attending this workshop, please contact The Biosignals Lab biosignalslab@rmit.edu.au or on (03) 9925 1954.

WE NEED YOU!

Join the PAM® study...

Parkinson’s Australia is inviting people living with Parkinson’s or Parkinson’s Plus conditions to take part in a national study using the Patient Activation Measure (PAM®). This tool helps us understand how confident people feel in managing their health and navigating care.

Your insights will help us identify gaps, strengthen advocacy, and shape resources that reflect lived experience.

If you’re a person with Parkinson's or Atypical Parkinson's and keen to contribute to a stronger, more responsive Parkinson’s community, we’d love to hear from you.

Remember:

  • You must have Parkinson's to participate
  • It's only 2-3 minutes of your time and a 13-question survey
  • We will ask you to repeat the survey at intervals throughout the coming year.

Register for the surveys here: https://hubs.la/Q03Q99_g0

NOTE: If you have previously registered for the study, you will receive your welcome email this week, noting the next steps from our partner delivering the survey on our behalf.
