ALLAN BORDER & CEO OLIVIA NASSARIS' MESSAGE TO THE PARKINSON'S COMMUNITY 2026

Allan Border's 2026 welcome message!

Parkinson’s Australia CEO Olivia Nassaris and Ambassador Allan Border started 2026 with this YouTube message for the Parkinson's Australia community.

At the Mosman Cricket Club, Allan Border completed the coin toss for the Barmy Army's "Bashes" cricket match played on the Allan Border Oval. The event helped raise national attention and over $20,000 for Parkinson’s Australia and strengthened support for Australians living with the condition.

Allan also shared simple steps he will take this year for his own health in living well with Parkinson's: “I’ve got to keep active. That’s one very important part of the process… exercising more and getting more fluids in."

Olivia closed with a message to the national community,  “Move more, hydrate more and have a fabulous 2026. We will be advocating on your behalf this year.”

Parkinson’s Australia will continue to strengthen national advocacy, connection and awareness for everyone affected by Parkinson’s in 2026.

Save the dates for our next National Conference in Sydney. #PANC27 will be on from May 16 to 18, 2027!

Your Voice, Your Needs: Take our National Survey

We are inviting people living with Parkinson’s, caregivers, and family members to take part in a national survey that will help us build better education for health professionals. Your insights will guide the Parkinson’s Disease Education Exchange (PDEX), a program focused on improving the recognition and management of Parkinson’s for GPs and Allied Health Professionals.

About the survey

  • Open until: 10 February 2026
  • Time required: 10 to 15 minutes
  • Confidential: Yes... Responses are used only for research and planning
  • Partners: Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited (AGPAL) and Client Focused Evaluation Program (CFEP) Surveys
  • LINK: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LQGYBDN

We encourage Australia-wide participation, including from regional, rural, culturally diverse, and First Nations communities, to ensure the education program reflects the full range of experiences across Australia.

Share your experience today

Your voice will influence the training that health professionals use for years to come. The more people who take part, the stronger and more representative the program will be of the needs of people with lived experience.

Thank you for taking the time to inform our national project.
