Parkinson's Australia received funding from the Federal Government to deliver a project to: ...improve the knowledge, skills, and confidence of general practitioners, nurses, and allied health professionals - particularly those in
regional, rural, and remote areas - in the early recognition, diagnosis, and management of Parkinson’s disease.
Parkinson’s Australia is looking for committed people to join our
Focus Groups and Advisory Committees.
We welcome expressions of interest from:
People living with Parkinson’s (including Atypical Parkinsonisms), carers, and professional carers/support staff
General Practitioners and Allied Health Professionals
First Nations people
People from CALD communities
People from Regional, Rural and Remote areas of Australia.
Submit your Expression of Interest. Send us a brief bio and why you're passionate about this work to: olivia@parkinsons.org.au
It’s one of those topics no one wants to talk about...
But if you’re living with Parkinson’s, it’s one you need to.
In case you missed the brilliant neurourologist, Ashani Couchman MBChB, FRACS (urol), FUSANZ, GLCP at our Parkinson's Australia National Conference, we’ve got you covered!
She’s recorded a practical video for the YOPX app, tackling bladder health with honesty, humour, and expert advice.
We’re grateful to see our incredible fundraisers, like Vicky and her SureDeploy team, already lacing up for this year’s City2Surf in support of Parkinson’s Australia!
Every step they take helps raise awareness and advocates for people living with Parkinson’s and ensures more Australians get the support they need... sooner.
Already registered for City2Surf and looking to make your run count?
That's okay... There are a few easy ways to organise your own Parkinson’s Australia fundraisers. Our preferred platform is my cause because it lets you fundraise for those birthdays, celebrations, fitness challenges and in memory tributes. You can also give the gift of a donation and send an e-card to a friend or family member.
Of course, you can always add us to your Facebook post as a donate button, or consider doing a birthday fundraiser that way, too. If you would like to fundraise and these options don’t suit you, just contact us, and we will help you find a way to reach your goals.
Thanks to all our donors over the years, and best of luck to all our fundraisers!

Have you downloaded and used the YOPX app yet? What do you think?
Have a look today, then participate in our YOPX Users survey.
We continue to add articles and videos to the app to help you live well with Parkinson's and help educate your friends, family & care team. You can also streamline your NDIS applications and reviews.
You could win one of two $100 gift cards. Be Quick! The survey closes August 8th.
Parkinson’s Australia is highlighting proposed changes to Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) regulations, currently under review by the TGA due to links with peripheral neuropathy — a serious nerve condition.
While B6 supports brain and nerve health, high-dose supplements (50mg to 200mg) may cause tingling, numbness, or burning pain. Some people may be affected even at lower doses or with long-term use.
We've already announced the full schedule of our 2025 Monthly Virtual Roundtables. Our next session on 7 August 2025 at 6:00PM AEST, will be hosted by our CEO, Olivia Nassaris.
These roundtables are a space for open conversation, where we listen to your lived experiences, share updates on our advocacy work, and explore how we can better support the Parkinson’s community.
We’ve scheduled multiple sessions throughout the year to make sure everyone has a chance to participate.
